| Young Volunteers and the Fairfield Association
The Fairfield Association welcomes young people aged 18 or under joining our activities. These include:
- regular working parties maintaining the Orchard, soon to be joined by work in the FAUNA nature reserve
- assisting in Forest School and other educational activities
- participating in our annual events such as the Easter Egg Hunt, the summer Fun Day, the Kwik Cricket Match, Apple Day, and Wassailing.
Some young people volunteer in part to meet the requirements for a qualification or award, such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s scheme. We are very happy to play our part in supporting young people in such activities.
We try to minimise the formalities. Young people (or their parents) may join the Association (£5 per year) but this is not required. We always have first aiders on hand at our events and safety is a priority. Volunteers should provide their own workgloves, suitable footwear and waterproof clothing. We do require people aged 18 or under to complete our consent form, giving the written consent of a parent or guardian.
Before helping at an event for the first time the consent form should be completed and delivered to the Volunteer Organiser, currently Ian Procter, at
EITHER 7 Truman Avenue, Lancaster, LA1 5EP
OR Sysaf123-volunteer AT yahoo DOT co DOT uk (characters replaced to reduce spam)
Please contact Ian on 01524 65670 for any further information or clarification.
